What is Bellafill®?
Bellafill® is the first FDA-approved anti-aging injection using collagen to restore facial volume and minimize wrinkles. Unlike other dermal fillers, Bellafill® isn’t reabsorbed back into the body, making it more durable and long-lasting than other brands, which are hyaluronic acid based.
How Long Does Bellafill® Last?Clinical studies
Clinical studies showed that Bellafill® lasts up to five years, making it the longest-lasting, FDA-approved dermal filler available. Due to the clinical studies only lasting that long, however, the results may last even longer, making a very enticing treatment for those wanting to avoid more frequent treatments.
What Can Bellafill® Treat?
Bellafill® is a dermal filler to restore facial volume, but studies have shown it can treat acne scarring. The collagen gel plumps the skin and treats the acne scars, causing them to be less noticeable and in some cases disappear. Bellafill® is used to treat loss in facial volume, wrinkles, fine lines, and acne scars.
Bellafill® also has been used to contour the chin and cheeks, and may be used in other areas to boost sagging skin. .
Is Bellafill® Painful?
Bellafill® contains lidocaine, an anesthetic, to provide comfort to anyone who may be sensitive to injections. If you are nervous or feel that the lidocaine is insufficient, one of our health professionals at Derma-Tech Medical Spa can administer nitrous oxide (happy gas) for an additional cost. This option is always available and may help you stay relaxed and more comfortable during treatment.
You may experience some discomfort with mild swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection site. These side effects resolve themselves within a week to 10 days. .
Who is a Good Candidate for Bellafill®?
Ideal candidates are adults over the age of 21 with deep smile lines or nasolabial folds. Other good candidates are those who struggle with covering acne scarring. Before your appointment, you may be asked to be tested for allergies to ensure you are a good candidate for Bellafill®.
Bellafill® may not be suitable for those with active acne or who are allergic to bovine collagen.
