Neurotoxin Overview
A neurotoxin refers to a series of anti-aging injections that smooth away lines and make your face look more youthful. We’ve already mentioned two of these – Botox® and Dysport® – but others also exist. At Derma-Tech, we offer Xeomin® alongside our Botox® and Dysport® injections.
All of these neurotoxin injections contain the same active ingredient: botulinum toxin type A. This ingredient will basically prevent different chemical reactions in your skin. By doing so, it stops your facial muscle from contracting and setting your face in different poses. As a result, this prevents wrinkles because your skin doesn’t change. For example, the muscles between your eyebrows will no longer contract and cause a frown, hence the reduction in frown lines.
Dysport® and Anti-Aging Benefits
Dysport® is shown to have anti-aging benefits thanks to the way it relaxes your facial muscles. This can prevent wrinkles from forming, and it also stops existing ones from getting worse. By inhibiting muscle contractions, it will also allow you to see remarkable results in a short space of time. Most people will see changes within the first 2/3 days after their treatment. These results can also last as long as 5 months before more injections are required.
One of Dysport® injections’ main benefits is that they don’t affect the rest of your facial structure. The injections are made to be placed around your eyebrows and forehead area, restricting muscle contractions in specific places. The rest of your facial muscles continue to work as usual, giving you a more natural appearance.
Am I a Candidate for Dysport® Injections?
